After a hard days work at Starbucks, my coworkers wanted to go out drinking at the local pubs. It is a "tradition" for those who work at Starbucks. I am not a drinking person, but they bought me a few strong liquors, four mostly... After drinking about two of them, I because quiet, almost reclutent. Most of the people in the group knows each other for many years, and I am very new to these people. I did not know what to say, and drinking that much, I did not know what to do or how to act. I felt very issolated...That is the last time I am going out to drink with them...or have that much to drink...

NervousCorner © 2006 Alex Cockburn

Tagged as: drinking, friendship, social, drinkingfriendshipsocial Female Love 2 by *ookamikemono http://www.furryartpile.com/view/10189/ Sat, 21 Apr 2007 15:30:54 -0700
Artist commentary
An onld piece I did with color pencils.

Female Love 2 © 2003 Alex Cockburn

Tagged as: mature, female, lesbian maturefemalelesbian Titan Jim and Keen Character Designs by *ookamikemono http://www.furryartpile.com/view/9259/ Fri, 06 Apr 2007 10:18:14 -0700
Artist commentary
This is a picture of:

Titan, the Fighter
Jim Mouse, the Rogue
Keen, the Show-off Adventurer

I drew these characters on Bristol, then colored them on computer. These are just general color skeems for the characters, so I didn't add any shadow or highlights on their fur or clothing. These characters are part of 22 drawn characters from my D&D game ( that is still expanding in my mind ). More characters and scenes will come in the future. I am still using IronClaw as a good refference. I recently bought the IronClaw Players Handbook along with three other side quest books, just for the artwork.

More characters are on there way. A thought came into my mind about age and how it will/might effect all of us.

When I look at furry art, I see that a lot of the characters are at young age or mature age ( 18-25 roughly ). Most to all are depicted as having beautiful bodies, both male and female in tame to sexual situations. With that in mind, I look at the real world and all those who are still young and have "average" bodies. When we get old, he hardly notice any change in our physical self. We age very slowly that it never comes across to us in our own eyes when we look at a photo or a mirrored image unless we look very carefully at what has changed and what hasn't. I look at myself in old photos to recent ones and reliezed just how much I have grown and physically/mentally changed. To be honest, it is kindof scary.

We hold our youths so close to us that when we get old, it starts to slip away form us and we have a harder time moving, thinking, or doing physically labor. Everything becomes harder for us in both ways when we get older and older. Everyone wishes to have the body of a 21 year old and have it remain that way. When we are young, we could do almost anything physically without any problems and our charisma will forever be "high". Heh, I am speaking of eternal youth. A lot of celebraties have plastic surgery to have their faces and bodies look young no matter how old they are. One could be 35 and have plastic surgery to make themselves look to be around 22.

Why must we worry about our age and our physical appearance? Why must we try to hide our "wrinkles" and white hair just to blend in with the young crowd and still feel like we are still part of them? Is it envy or jealousy? Maybe because we miss those old times when we can run freely and do stupid things when our bodies were still young, flexable and strong; able to withstand almost any kind of physical abuse.

I am not saything that there is anything bad about getting older, but alot of teen kids look through Glamer or Cosmo or anykind of young teen magazine magazine and see how young everyone is. There is hardly a middle aged person in those magazines. If they see a person in a magazine or on the stree who looks "unpleasant" to their eye, they freak out and try their best to look thin and as sexually beautiful as much as they can. Is it fear? Or maybe one giant lie to ourselves?

Pornography is also something that many young adults look at and always wish that they could have that kind of body, sexually young and full of energy. In furry art, to me, it is all about that. Many to all furry characters are young and are in sexual situations that could hardly/never be done when we get old. Yiff is a kind of art that shows beauty that shows was any of us could do if we are young and fit. If a 45 year old looked at Yiff with two young characters in a sexual situation, would he or she think "If I was young, I could do that." in a envy tone of thought, or maybe think "Been there, done that."

"Beauty is within the eye of the beholder." Not many go by that quote anymore...

I know I am rambling. I am terrible at writing ordered papers from stream of thoughts, but I hope everyone understands where I am going through with this. What are your thoughts?

Not Getting Younger © 2006 Alex Cockburn

Tagged as: age, gay, male, mature, sheath, agegaymalematuresheath BABPPCs by *ookamikemono http://www.furryartpile.com/view/9202/ Thu, 05 Apr 2007 15:25:14 -0700
Artist commentary
A gift to a friend of mine, Karrie. She is a bass player in a hardcore rock band and she always had a thing of Pussy Cat. I drew her furry fursona ( a panther ) with Pussy Cat herself, holding Bass guitars. This came out pretty good. Im pleased. ^_^ Maybe one day, she will make a Tshirt out of this. She is into print making.

BABPPCs © 2006 Alex Cockburn. There is nothing wrong with the male or female body. Nothing >.<

Of coarse, there is no errection or anything like that, and I hope that is ok.

I so wish that there was a gay rave club around in Boston. Well, there is a club that every Thursday night that hosts a gay night at a close club, but I hear tell that it is not good; a lot of steriotypical homosexuals who are just looking for a quick "in and out". My friend works there, and she said that it is a rist to be in there. I am sure if it was an all gay furry rave club, there be less "drama", eh?

Anyways, drew this, than done with Photoshop. Too a while to color with the wacom tablet, but it came out well. I did not know if I should have drew him with a sheath or just flesh.

Hope you like it.

- Ookami Kemono

RaveMale © 2006 Alex Cockburn

Tagged as: mature, mature ProtectorOfLifePoster by *ookamikemono http://www.furryartpile.com/view/9200/ Thu, 05 Apr 2007 15:18:49 -0700
Artist commentary
Something I have been kicking around the room for a while. I wanted to do a story about an Egyptian battle between two sisters. My Egyptian mythology skills are very rusty now, so all I can do att he moment is draw draw draw. I do have a great story behind it though.

Anyways, this was done in photoshop, using the wacom pen for coloring. The images in the background are old drawings I did of Isis and Horus. later on, I found out that Isis and Horus ( or Ra ), were a big part in Anubis' background story. The symbols on the top, the Eye of Horus ( in some cases, mean protection or to guard ) and the Ankh ( which somewhat symbolizes life and death ), were just thrown together, just for visual symbolism for the title.

ProtectorOfLifePoster © 2006 Alex Cockburn. I decided to bring Shiroi Kegawa back. I wanted to do an Asian movie theme, more along the lines of drama since a lot of Asian drama movies always seem to fascinate me. I might do another one, since many Asian movie posters have two to four variations of posters on the same movie.

"The story is about a young college student, Shiroi Kegawa. She was born without the ability to speak, so she uses other ways to express her emotions and story telling through ribbon dancing while she is nude. Sugoi, Shiroi's protective twin, makes sure that nothing ever happens to her, and has her doubt's about Shiroi's unique talent. But when a foreign exchange student Kutya witnesses one of her performances, an unbreakable love comes between them and Shiroi's college life and her ability to tell stories through ribbon dancing changes for both better and for worse."

Done with Sharpie and PS7.

I had fun doing the credits ^_^

- Ookami Kemono

Image, Characters and Story © 2006 Alex Cockburn

Tagged as: featured, page, featuredpage
