I'm very humbled since his inking skills far outweigh mine. I outlined areas in green because I plan to color those areas in, so I didn't want to ink them. I didn't use more hatching for the same reason. I will need to clean up some areas, seems my inks are rather messy and weak in certain areas. I am very thankful for learning about Painter's on the fly canvas rotation. It helps get some of those curves down faster. I like the scratchboard tool and cover pencil. They can help make some very lovely inks. It's not Kaizer as a female because the horns and hair is different. I watched too much Shadow Skill and thought that one Elle's hair was neat so tried that. Now QT in a Kaizer species form looks like a Kirin, lol. I like the way this one came out much better even with the mistakes. There is a NO PANTS rule with Kaizers! QT is a very sleepy kitty. I hope this pic gives people a better idea of what I look like. If you look carefully you can see the alien part of me in the form of two little "feelers" sticking out of my hair. I mostly keep those hidden. She is based off a black jaguar so she has a very stocky build, and reverse kind of spots. That's why my boss calls me an "Oreo" (cookie) sometimes. I could have added more highlights and color but I thought it would destroy it. Talulah is QT's middle name, Qitorah is the first. Just so you know this is her "horny skink" form. I tried drawing her a few times with really bad failures (see the all Girls OC session) and actually she's been around a long time, my boss actually has the "prototype" picture of her in color I sent him along with the story of the fact QT is actually a Xenomorph. This was the first form my boss met her in. The kitty form is her current. Speaking of, no this was not done by my boss nor am I attempting to "steal his style" he may have influence over my works but quite honestly, I've been studying real anatomy and realizing I'm coming to the same conclusions as my boss. I actually haven't looked at his works or much of anyone's in months as I studied to get better. Besides my boss has a way better understanding of anatomy, he'd probably spank me for some of the mistakes I made in this picture. The middle name "Talulah" actually comes from a Jamiroquai song I love a lot. Qitorah was the name my boss named me, though in Jaguardess form he has referred to me as an Oreo (cookie). I really wanted to get the plated horns right this time, I've often failed. I'm glad I got them done in an acceptable manner but damn they were a bitch to draw. Still looks cool though. This is another I'll color and crop when I'm done. Sleepy QT gets colored first. QT is a sleepy kitty, often times I end up like that with a book in hand drifting to sleep. I have a bad habit in sleeping in bathtubs too. Her head is not small, she's got a big busty body, lol. Yes, natural boobs. This will be colored, and my inks are horribly messy. I need to show my body more. I may do something more detailed later. The difference between the pelvis in animals and humans is interesting, animal pelvises pitch more forward so you can see where the tail is. Humans, their tail is well the kind of the sacrum, back part of the pelvis. If you see the very end you'll see how they fused at the very end after it was decided we didn't need tails. Furries that are mostly human ...where do you put the tail? The best place is where you'll notice a V shape where the sacrum is. We often say "Small of the back" Even though our tails are fused they would not come out our ass. It's probably useless info for most others, but perhaps someone else can get something out of it. When you first started drawing you usually were taught everything things like a leg is a giant cylinder, which helps you make a basic but boring leg. When you study anatomy, you notice an interesting divide in the leg, that is by two major bones in the leg, the tibia and fibula. That divide actually makes almost 3 major shapes instead of one big cylinder. I could get technical and name the parts like the Gastrocnemius, which is that fat bulge you see on the inside of your leg, the same side where your toe is. That sits a bit lower or furtther back and usually catches more shadow because it more of the back part of the leg. Look at your leg and you'll see what I mean. I did a diagram of how I see these shapes as they rise up. it is actually how I determine where to lay down color. I start with darks first, then work my way up to highlights and details last. It was a difficult practice because you visualize a finished piece in your head. One other thing to show is that if you think about the wedges of the body, the foot, the toe side of your foot is higher up than the rest of the side here your other toes are. It tends to catch more shadow. Start practicing by just making certain areas black in where I said the most shadow would be just so you can think of the planes and shapes of the figure. I always break it down to simple 3d shapes when I color, and use basic coloring then before I worry about all contours. I hope some of my tip makes some sense to you furries out there, and if you have any questions like how you should see parts of the body to color just ask.
