Her hair (behind the head band) is just one solid, living leech which can consume prey much larger than itself and drain the victim of its blood and the majority of its muscle tissue by turning it to goo and absorbing it through the victim&#039;s skin in minutes, then spitting out the shriveled-up remains. The tail can also consume rather large prey, though its intentions are more for reproductive reasons... it devours a victim whole, absorbs its tissues and copies its genes, producing an egg which is birthed a couple months later. The interesting thing about Gryndle is that she is thus far the only ghost monster that can reproduce with living beings in the human realm by copying its dna and producing offspring which resemble that person, only more monstrous and carrying some of her own traits. The offspring is either a ghost monster or a living, breathing monster which can traverse between the human and monster dimensions at will.<br /><br />As for personality/backstory:<br />Her human was an explorer. An exotic, dark, tall, beautiful woman who lived her life exploring even into her 50&#039;s when it became rough getting around the dense jungles she loved so much. One day, while wading through a swamp deep in the Amazon, she was unwittingly attacked by hordes of giant leeches. Already being severely anemic, she fainted into the water, and was then devoured by a group of caimans.<br /><br />Gryndle herself is an explorer, and uses her ability to create offspring which can willingly pass through dimensions to try and gather information about the &#039;outside realm&#039;. She is viewed as a teacher amongst the other monsters, and is practically worshiped as their queen for being blessed with such an ability. Though her offspring are about as hunger-driven as she is, and they often are swayed off-track by an appealing dog or child in which they can eat, often bringing their mother human or animal meals... or slaves. Though, anything from the human realm cannot live more than a few months in the monster realm due to the atmosphere having thin air and no real source of food other than the occasional treat Gryndle may bring them. Of all the monsters, she is most inconsiderate of human and animal life and thinks only of her children and the other monsters. I just got over the flu... am moving to Florida in a few weeks... driving there in two days which will take about 15 hrs. to visit Jonathan&#039;s mom and check things out... I have a lot on my mind. So I drew Vera surrounded by some of my favorite creatures, everything from a tailless whip scorpion to a spiny stick bug to an earwig to a tarantula hawk to... you name it. (Or if you can&#039;t figure it out, just ask and I&#039;ll tell ya!) :)<br /><br />Crappy background is crappy. And if you happened to notice, Vera&#039;s missing two normally crucial details of her design... her eyebrow horns. I figured she was complicated enough without them :P<br /><br />PS: I know there are some of you I still owe commissions, please don&#039;t bombard me with notes just because I&#039;ve posted some personal art. I would just work on commissions or nothing at all, but I&#039;ve actually almost gotten myself caught up on them and figured I deserved a break, being miserably ill and all. I sketched them both in this position and afterwards, realized Vera&#039;s legs weren&#039;t visible (ruining the whole socks concept) so I tried to work them so they -were- visible... luckily Vera&#039;s a contortionist so I have an excuse if the pose she&#039;s in seems impossible. ;)<br /><br />This sketch took 5 hours easy... and I&#039;m still not happy with it... Mitrio is the leader of an army of male Langurhali which protect the Willow of Eternity from the outsiders, particularly the Pravusali. He and the others in this group are known as the Sempiternals and all have either Greek or Latin names given to them by the Langurhali elders.<br /><br />For my own reference, or if anyone wants to draw him: Mitrios has light tan fur with a dark brown &#039;mane&#039; and long fur patches. His eyes are a rich crimson, and his horns are bright white with tan stripes. New Langurhali. She has no tail, just a little tuft of fur. She&#039;s also missing an eye. I figured I&#039;d go beyond the usual couple of scars most fighting characters have. I was going to put a knife of some sort on her belt, but forgot *notes to do that later*<br /><br />The symbol on her arm bands is the Broken Infinity, the symbol used by &#039;rebel&#039; Langurhali and Pravusali or just any other creatures against Willora, whose symbol on their flags and marked into the trees is a regular infinity, signifying the eternal life granted by the Willow. The rebel Langurhali chose a different path and thus don&#039;t share in the blessing of eternal life, though they still generally live a few hundred years. Whiskers, Purple lips/nose/eyelids, red eyes with hints of yellow, her choker and stripey horns.<br /><br />She usually has a suspicious, sneaky expression which suggests contemplation of a devious plot. She is inspired by conjoined kittens, born with a similar mutation of the skull. Sometimes they may share one center eye, or two separate pairs as with Conjuka here. Rarely do the real cats born with two heads reach adulthood. Such feline mutations fascinate me, so expect a lot more oddities in the future. Such as polydactyl paws and &#039;winged cats&#039;...<br /><br />Conjuka shares the same body, digestive system, esophagus and other organs, as well as the same brain - however she has two different personalities. Because of this, people may often call (her) left side &quot;Conjie&quot; and the right &quot;Jukah&#039; so as not to cause confusion when speaking to one side or the other. They have two separate tails, and are able to control only their side of the body, thus they must work together to perform the simplest tasks, such as walking, clapping, climbing, sitting, or jumping. While they may talk separately and have two different vocal cords, their eyes always blink at the same time, and many of their central muscles can be difficult to control due to them both being controlled by the same nervous system.
