Mini flood

Posted 10 months ago

Pardon my wanton posting. Just filling out my gallery. I have an archive going back to 1992, though there is huge gap from 1996 to 2000 where I just wasn't drawing. In the future I'll pace myself in posting older art.

    I wondered what happened to your art during those years. Since fanzines pretty much disappeared when the internet took over I didn't know if you were still drawing or not.

      Mostly I got caught up in being a graphic designer. It paid off, but my art skills certainly suffered for it. I lost all my muscle memory and I essentially had to start over with learning how to draw. I should make a post about how art isn't like falling off a bike. ^_^;

      I miss all the old pin-up fanzines. But places like this are fine. I just have this love of printed materials, and black & white art. Most of my favorite artists/influences mostly did black & white art, Franklin Booth, Aubrey Beardsley and Russell Patterson. I should start learning to paint and color.

      I've been a huge fan of yours ever since I first saw your art. I can't remember exactly where that was, but I was elated when I found Playmouse and you were posting your work there.

        Well, I first got printed in Bunny Pages back in '99 and was in and issue or two of Untamed and various issues of
        Genus; one of those could be where you saw me first. I hope someone can return Playmouse to the internet and keep
        it centered on cheesecake and nude pin-ups, like it used to be back when it was where everyone went.
        Have you kept in touch with any of the fanzine artists who've never or rarely posted online?

          The Bunny Pages, that's it! That was a good zine.

          Unfortunately I've lost contact with just about everyone from the fanzine days. I got terribly lazy in the communication department. And it seems like a lot of folks just made the jump to the internet and stopped writing. For myself, I'm an internet late-comer. I got my first computer late in the game, and I never really connected to furry fandom in it's online state. I never knew the cool sites and chat boards. It wasn't until the early 2000's that I got involved with furry fandom online. Quite a few of the old furs didn't remember me so I pretty much lost touch all around.
