Not the last Sunday of JulyPosted 1 week ago
What's happening? I submitted a work and it's not the last Sunday of the month? Is the world ending? Not a reason to get worried, dear reader, my buffer of short stories just has become so large, that I saw it better to start posting, not only bimonthly, but every other week. Well, it's nearly the same thing, bimonthly you get 24 stories per year, every other week you get 26 stories per year.
I have had some difficulties to write comments on my own works, I pour all my creativity into the story itself and when I have to write the commentary, I get a writer's block. Now I have altered the way I write the comments a bit, there is a title, a brief comment, list of debuts and concepts introduced first time and html-link to the previous and the next story. All these changes are applied to my earlier works also. The links provide an easy way to browse through my stories. Frankly speaking, I'm little disappointed to the gallery system used in FAP. I also think my stories are best read in the order I have submitted them. Well, at least I like to read other people's prose in that order. I could also provide the name of the next story before I submit it, but I'm still pondering if I want to. I like to surprise my readers. Maybe I alter it depending on my mood at the moment I submit a new work. Also, I have changed my user icon. Before it had a simplified generic mammal carnivore skull with a tank helmet on with background of radial stripes, colored different hues of gray and later as FAP 3 brought new color theme, different hues of blue and white. My new user icon is composed of an ancient Finnish symbol called “tursaansydän” (literally, “heart of Tursas”) and my username, “panzergulo”, written with block letters under the symbol. I like the new icon better, as it is very geometric, very symbolic and very simple. I can't really draw, so the very simplified design of the new icon suits me better. Also, in the middle of the symbol the four identical parts join together to form a swastika, which was, among other things, used as the national insignia in the Finnish Armoured Forces during the WW2. Pitty that the swastika has such a bad stigma nowadays. The swastika is an ancient symbol of well-being and good fortune, used throughout the world since prehistoric times, but in the modern western world it's shunned because its connection with the “Hakenkreuz” used by the Nazis. Happy July to all you, who came across my writings and had the patience to read it on the last line! |

Yeah, new icon. I like how the little symbol binds so many things together. Finnish heritage, Tursas, Kalevala, Finnish Armored Forces and swastika with its all symbolism. Most won't get it, though, not without reading my blog.

I know just how you feel there. I' also waiting for a system in which I can link the chapters to my story in the comment in a nice orderly fashion for my readers to follow. For now submitting them in order works for me.
