Nibirusian art "Challenge"

Posted 1 year ago

(The first post will include the written ref sheet cause i don't want the thing stretching my main page x.x it's 10 fucking pages of info... soon to be more if i get any more questions about the species, now that i have an image of them.)

Here's the link to the image in my gallery
http://www.furryartpile.com/view/8147/

Alright folks, here's the deal....
This is a CHALLENGE, therefore there will be NO prizes and no winners either.

THERE IS NO DEADLINE!

I realize that having no prizes will discourage a lot of people from participating, but still... it's worth a try, right?
(If you REALLY want a prize, you can consider your new Nibirusian character as the prize X3)

This is mainly to help get people interested in the Nibirusian species and to help spread them throughout FA like the Sergals were X3

The theme for your pictures can be rated anywhere from G to XXX
And if you're not a visual artist, I'll also accept stories about them ^-^

-------------------------------------------------------------------
FOR THE STORY WRITERS!
keep in mind that as of yet, they DO NOT have a set/deep history (cause no one has asked about it), so please don't try to ad-lib. ask questions first if you must, but for the love of god don't ad-lib... these are my babies, and what you might think would make a good history might not be something I'd agree upon... x.x so ASK FIRST
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Fetishes that are NOT ALLOWED; inflation, scat, watersports or whatever other fetish would count as "extreme" (unless listed below)

Allowable fetishes include; Vore (as long as the victim is not another Nibirusian), Hermaphrodites (using any of the four listed variations), Cubs (read under their social structure to learn why), or whatever else you can think of that wouldn't be considered an extreme fetish. (if you have questions about this please ask me by posting in this journal)

The picture/story can involve any situation and include as many of the critters as you'd like.
(if some more people could depict them swimming that'd be awesome! X3)

As i said earlier, ANY questions that you may have, please list them in this journal and I'll try and reply back to them with my answer when i get time. you can ask me anything about the species. it doesn't matter how stupid you may think it sounds. ANY question you can think of is welcome

Please if you decide to give this a shot post here in the journal, and reply back to your own comment with the link to the image! cause I'd REALLY love to see what you all come up with ^-^

Keep in mind, this species is still growing, and they are still evolving with every question i get asked.
If you're going to ask questions about them, these are the categories I'd like to you stick too if possible.

    Physical Appearance:

    What are they called?
    Nibirusian (pronounced Knee-bee-rouge-eon)

Do they resemble any Earth animals?
    No

What (if any so far) are the physical or biological differences between the genders, aside from the obvious hormones?
ummm, As much as i LOVE the appearance of the Sergals and how they can pull off the no breast thing, I'm gonna have to give the females breasts, mainly for selfish reasons... >->; (Best... Pillows.... EVAR)

    Fur, Feathers or Scales?:
    Fur

    Wings or No Wings?:
    No Wings

    Bipedal or Quadrupedal?:
    Combination of both

    Webbed fingers/toes or Not?:
    Webbed Toes only

    Visible Ears or No?:
    Visible Ears

Do their ears Stand Up or Droop Down?:
    Stand Up

    Tail, Yes or No?:
    Yes

    Prehensile Tail or No?:
    No

Tuft at the end of tail?:
    Yes

    Opposable Thumbs, Yes or No?:
    Yes

On both hands and feet or just hands or just feet?:
    Just Hands

    One or multiple tails?:
    One

How big are the male's members on average?:
    8" - 9" in length with a 3" - 4" knot at the base

Do they have typical Earth/human like genitalia, or do they reproduce in other ways?
Male genitalia are similar to that of a canine, they have both sheaths and balls, the main difference is that there's a "crown" of tendril like "barbs" surrounding the head to help with stimulation of the inner walls of the female as well as a small nub/ridge at the center point on the shaft's underside to stimulate the females clitoris during intercoarse
As for females, they are generally the same as humans with the exception of small ridges and slightly stronger muscles on the inside of the vagina to help stimulate the male's shaft

    Retractable claws? Yes or No?:
on their feet yes, hands no

    Plantigrade or Digitigrade?:
    Digitigrade

    Finger/Toe length?:
Average human length fingers, but since they are Digitigrade, their toes would be slightly longer then that of a dogs

Do they have long or short fur?:
Depends on the climate they live in.

Do they have any special species-related qualities or abilities? (Like how skunks spray, marsupials have pouches, werewolves can change forms, etc)
Females have pouches, and as far as the entire species is concerned, they all are semi-aquatic, meaning they can spend about 2 hours underwater without coming up for air as well as a nictitating membrane that covers their eyes while underwater so they can see

What is their most impressive/noticeable feature, physically? (rabbits=ears, kangaroos=feet/tails, skunks=tails)
they've got "fins" that are located on their forearms to aid in swimming, as well as webbed toes

What sort of markings are normal?
It depends on the individual, their markings differ widely though I'd say that the most commonly seen markings would be light colored underbellies, dark colored backs. again to aid while swimming to avoid detection from prey.

Is their fur soft or coarse? How many layers of fur do they have?
The feel of their fur is general soft, but dessert dwellers tend to have rough, coarse fur. How many layers of fur they have differs from climate to climate. the further north/south, the more layers.

What do their noses look like?
    I guess the only thing I can think of that resembles what I've got in mind for their noses, is that of the Sergal >.>;

Do they have hair/head fur? What styles are popular?
They have head fur as well as a "mane" of sorts that goes down the center of their back.

How tall are they? How heavy? More muscle or fat? Do they have a heavy bone structure?
On average around 5 - 6 feet tall and have very strong yet light bone structures, there are rare cases of dwarfism and gigantism though. most of which are either killed by predators or die because of their condition.

What do their tails look like? Their ears? Their muzzles?
Their tails are long yet muscular, mainly to aid them while swimming, only when they are in water do you see the "fin" beneath the fur. it's very small and doesn't help much, but it's there.

Do they have teeth like humans, mostly flat with a few sharp, or like bears, mostly sharp with a few flat?
mostly sharp with a few flat.

What colors are natural for them? For their world?
Blues, greens, browns, reds, basically any colors that you'd find on earth they have on their planet

Is breasts or no breasts the only difference between the sexes?
Females have pouches, Males have serrated like horns on their head

If light bottom and dark top are normal, do they have any other marks? Speckling? Striping? Points?
Markings vary from individual and can consist of any one of the three choices, though speckling along the sides and arms as well as striping seem more common

Do their fins look like fish fins, or dolphin fins?
The fins on their fore arms and tail when spread resemble that of a fish's dorsal fin. Spiny and able to fold against the skin

Is their fur like otter fur, then, if they are amphibious? Do they have a waterproof, warming coat?
Their fur is unique to them and is about medium length and really soft. But when submerged it "slicks back" against the skin similarly to an otters to help reduce resistance from the water. I'm not sure if this is a conscious decision that needs to be learned, or if it's just a natural reaction when their fur meets water

    Do they have visible nostrils?
Yes, though they only appear as slits (similar to the Sergal's) (yeah i know, I'm SO original X3)

What colors are normal for fur colors? What color is their skin? Do they have albino, leucistic and melanistic variations?
I've still not managed to figure out a natural fur color for them. (my brain tends to add color once i have a solid image of them either in my head or on paper x.x)
I can answer this though, their skin color is generally the same as ours, often times speckled with black patches though. Nipples are black in color as well as a male's penis. The female's vagina is a reddish-pink coloration. There are Albino, Leucistic, and Melanistic color variations.

How many genders do they have?
    Male, Female, Hermaphrodite

    Do they have multiple forms?
There are some minor variations to the species depending on where they live. but being able to shift from one form to another, no.

What do the hermaphrodites' genetalia look like? Are they capable of reproducing? How often do they occur? What secondary gender characteristics do they have (i.e. horns, pouch, breasts)?
Hermaphroditic Nibirusian come in three variations, all of which have both horns and a pouch. Often times (not always) hermaphroditic Nibirusian are dropped down to the omega status of a tribe.
The Hermaphroditic gene is recessive and may stay dormant for generations at a time before being appearing.

1.) Having a Vagina and Penis with no Breasts. (1 in 20,000 normal births)
This variation is most common, and is not able to reproduce. this variation is missing both testes and ovaries/uterus and cannot breed. The penis is positioned just above the clitoral hood of the vagina which is fully functional

2.) Having Breasts and a Penis with no Vagina (1 in 50,000 hermaphroditic births)
Often times as sterile as an acid bath, there is an extremely rare chance (1 in 30,000 births) that they can impregnate a female. During these rare cases the "offending" individual (the herm) is either run out of the tribe, beaten or killed. The resulting child of such copulations, if not still born is either abandoned and the tribe moves on, or is killed shortly after birth by the mother. If the mother does not kill the child she is dropped in rank in the tribe, often times taking the place of the abandoned/killed omega. Though she is still able to care for her child.

3.) Having Breasts, Penis and Vagina (1 in 90,000 hermaphroditic births)
The rarest variation in the hermaphroditic Nibirusian's, it is also the most fertile, although has the highest chances of having stillborn births. The penis is positioned just above the clitoral hood of the vagina which is fully functional

    4.) Natural Hermaphodites
Having a Vagina and no Breasts with internal testes which are "spare parts" if you will and serve no purpose what so ever. Often times they are born without any reproductive organs at all. They can participate in mating, but are unable to become pregnant.

How many breasts do the females have, and what is the normal size?
The females only have two breasts, and their size varies from each individual, though the largest breast size does NOT exceed a D cup in size.

Is the tail fin hidden in the mane that goes down the back? Why does it only show when they are in water?
No, there is no fin that is hidden along their back, The tail fin starts about a foot from the tip of their tail and ends an inch before the tip and it is only on the top of the tail, not the bottom. While spread the fin stands about five inches from where it attaches to the tail to the tallest dorsal spike.

    Locomotion/Movement:

Do they move freely between bipedalness and quadrupedalness, or do they need external aids?
Yes. They are able to go from a walk/sprint/run and go into a full quadrupedal walk/sprint/run rather fluidly

Do they ride any other animals, or do they only go on foot?
They've not mastered riding yet, so they only go on foot. though with a quadrupedal gate of about 40 - 50 mph they really don't need riding animals. and because of their lung capacity, they can stay at those speeds for around 10 minutes

What does their run cycle look like? A canine? A feline? A horse?
Quadrupedal run cycle is Feline, Upright run cycle would be similar to a Humans

    Religion/Legend:

Do they have organized religions, or a spirituality? Do they all believe the same thing?
beliefs vary depending on the clan, but generally they have very similar beliefs and rarely fight because of their differences

What sort of religious beliefs do they have (if any)?
They are naturally bound in spirituality and religion, similar to Native American beliefs

What legends do they follow closely?
That if something is taken carelessly or not used fully, the ancestors of what was taken will come back to haunt them. Everything they kill or use is prayed for and nothing goes to waist for fear of this curse/superstition

If they have gods/ancestral spirits, what do they look like? What are their powers? What are they in charge of?
Their ancestral spirits are similar in appearance to them except they have wings. they have limited powers over the different elements of the planet. but generally play the "watch but don't touch" type of role

Are their lives very ceremonial, with lots of rituals and customs, or are they more laid back?
Their lives are generally laid back, the only ceremonies they hold normally are burial ceremonies, mating ceremonies, and maturity ceremonies for both males and females

    Intelligence:

Do they have a concept of math/numbers? Abstract ideas?
They have a loose concept of math in order to keep track of food reserves as well as clan members. and they do have abstract though, creating music, art and improving existing tools

    Special Abilities:

    Terrestrial, Aquatic or Amphibious?:
    Amphibious

Do they have any elemental/magic abilities at all?
I've actually wanted to stay away from elemental abilities, but if I would pick one, I'd have to say either fire or earth. Mainly to help out with certain tasks and "jobs" within a clan, perhaps they could even have both, but have them split among special individuals

    What are their strongest senses?
it's fairly split between sight, smell, and hearing
more so for hearing and smell then sight

    Do they use fire?
Yes, they know how to create fire the old fashioned way and also gain the ability to manipulate it after it's been created. They can't just snap their fingers and start a fire.

How do they breathe underwater? Do they have hidden gills, or just enormous lung capacity?
Their lung capacity is unusually high for their lung size, which is around the average size of a healthy human's

    Random Factoids:

    What are their tribes called?
    Tribes/Clans/Packs

    Social Conduct/Structure:

    What is their planet called?
    Nibiru

What are the males, females and young called? (bitches, dogs and puppies? bucks, does and fawns? bulls, cows and calves? etc)
I think as far as the babies are concerned, it's interchangeable between Kit and Cub, I'd rather not have them called Joeys just cause they come from pouches x.x
As for the adults, I'll call the males Stags and females Does

Does the species live in groups or alone?
depends on the individuals in question.
they tend to live in small closely knit groups of up to 5-8 individuals

How does their social structure work, such as any sort of government/racial taboos, etc?
Fighting for supremacy, (similar to wolves) both males and females can participate for leadership either individually or as a pair.
If the reigning alpha pair looses, both alpha leaders must step down and be replaced with the new pair that was fighting for dominance.
as for individual battles, if the alpha female loses for example, she switches places "and often times even mates" with the winning female.
    Same goes for male battles.

Are there any other species they have a particular dislike for in general, or one they interact closely with?
Aside from the territorial nature of the species and sometimes coming into conflict with other tribes/clans, they do have natural predators, though they themselves are similar to humans on the food chain, they are preyed upon by the large "cats/bears/wolves" of their world

Are they very touchy feely with each other, or do they not like to be touched?
They are touchy feely to a certain point. Like all species, they do have boundaries, and if those boundaries are broken the result can be devastating.

In battle or when hunting, How would they attack?:
They generally hunt in packs of 3 - 4 Nibirusian
they're tech is primitive at best, but still very advanced for where they live
they've managed to create bows and arrows as well as throwing axes and spears
As well as creating metal blades from natural metals found in the landscape which they create similarly to that of a blacksmith

What is the typical rank in a tribe? They have an alpha/leader or an alpha pair, do they have a shaman? A midwife? A child watcher? Etc
Their tribal ranks are closely tied to that of a wolf pack, having two Alphas, two Betas (not necessarily a mated pair), followed by the pups/elders and one Omega (the "outcast")

How severe are dominance fights? Do they just snarl and show off, do they fight until they run, do they fight to the death? Something in between?
It all depends on the situation that caused the fight and how severe the crime was

Do they all mate, or only the alpha pair?
They all have the ability and permission to mate

Do they all produce offspring, or only the alpha pair?
Only the Alpha pair is capable of procreating “legally”

Do the tribes ever join up with other tribes, at gatherings or for hunting seasons?
The only times that a tribe will merge with another is during the summer season when food is plentiful, and very rarely during the winter to help improve chances

    Do they hunt or scavenge?
They've opportunistic feeders. They'll eat anything that is edible depending on the availability of food

Are they vicious killers? Peaceful, harmony-with-nature types? Somewhere in between?
Somewhere in between I'd say, without violence, then things would be rather bland >.>

What becomes of elders in their society? Are they revered? Abandoned? Killed?
Often times they are taken care of similarly to cubs, though treated with more respect, but it depends on how much they did for the tribe when they were still young and capable.

Do the tribes fight with each other?
Yes, mostly over territory, but there are just random battles over nothing. often times resulting in both tribes communing afterwards and sharing stories and what not

What happens to them when they die?
They get buried, decompose and go back to the soil. It's not as ceremonial as humans by far, they bury their dead in mounds and then are back on their way.

Where are their personal names taken from? (Physical appearance, first dream they had, first thing mother saw when they were born, etc)
Names are only given at sexual maturity and upon finding a mate, they are chosen by their respective mates (but for the sake of people making characters of the species, it doesn't matter)

What are they called up until they have chosen a mate? What about the Omegas, who would not mate?
They retain their Kit/Cub status until they are mated. Omega's are generally treated as the "toys" of the tribe and do not normally find a permanent partner

What are they called as a name until they gain a mate (you said their mate names them). What if they never get a mate?
As for before mateship, they are regarded as children regardless of if they are sexually mature or not. Names that are often used by tribe members for them are "Little one, Kit, Cub or Young one"
If they never mate after 5 years of being sexually mature the Alphas choose their name upon request. After which, if they manage to find a mate, their mate gets to choose whether to keep the name the Alphas gave them, or to choose a completely new one.

At what age do they reach puberty/sexual maturity?
Males reach sexual maturity after the females which is around 18 - 20 depending on the individual. Males generally mature at around 22 - 23

Do they have a puberty/'manhood'/'womanhood' ceremony, and if so, what changes? (Name, boy/man transformation, magical power gained, etc)
At sexual maturity, both males and females gain either minor fire manipulation, minor earth manipulation, or nothing at all. the choice is biological and completely random.

What is considered a crime in their society?
Rape: There is a fine line in which rape can occur without any repercussions, and it only involves the Omegas. Any (sexually mature) member of the tribe can take the omega from where they were and rape them with ought consequence. But if such an action occurs with any other member of the tribe besides the omegas, the punishment includes severe beating and food deprivation, for as long as necessary

Adultery: (by the dictionaries definition) Adultery is the fornication between a married (in this case mated) woman or man with another woman or man that is not his/her spouse" while illegal and punishable by law in the human world, adultery on Nibiru, while bad, is not illegal so long as the "other" man/woman in question’s rank is that of Omega. and therefore perfectly acceptable. Often times, kits that reach sexual maturity are taught about mating by the pure sexual use of an Omega.

Murder: The murder of any tribe member is punishable by death in return.

Theft: Theft is a rare thing because they share almost everything with one another in the tribe. though the rare occasions that it does occur, the offender is punished by getting whipped across the back with willow like branches. the severity of the punishment is determined by what was stolen and whom it was stolen from.

Assault: Assault is dealt with in a case by case basis, the severity of the crime and who was assaulted determines the punishment. (assaulting an alpha without declaring a challenge for their place would result in the ejection of the offender from the tribe)

Child molesting: Child molestation is not permitable and is punishable by death depending on the tribe. there are "rogue" tribes that throw out this law however and kidnap kits from other tribes in order to use them for their pleasure, while leaving their own kits alone. but these are very rare occurrences

    Communication:

    What is their language called?
    Nimbirusian

How do they communicate with each other? Do they bark or have some distinct sound that they make? Or do they have a spoken language?:
they've got a spoken language and are VERY fast learners as far as other languages are concerned
(have you ever seen The 13th Warrior?) if so it's kind of like that. if they spend a few days-weeks with a different language they can speak it almost fluently

How do they show submission in their groups? Dogs will either bow their heads and wag their tails, or even roll over onto their backs exposing their stomachs:
A combination of bowing, wagging their tails as well as using their eyes, ears, mouth and even certain scents to show dominance or submission

    Attire (Clothing):

    Do they wear shoes?
    No.

Do they wear ANYTHING? And if so, what sort of costume is typical?
They're clothing is rather simple depending on the tribe. consisting of either simple loincloths for males, "toga" like wraps for females, or nothing at all

Do they dye or ornament their fur? Dreadlock it or their hair? Tails? Do they love adornments or hate them, or somewhere in between?
they often times braid their "manes" and put colored ceramic beads or bones in them. Certain adornments can also mean rank and be the difference in how an individual is treated by the clan.

What do rank adornments look like?
The Alpha's sometimes adorn their manes with small skulls of birds/mammals, or brightly colored gems, beads, and the occasional claws. Beta's wear the occasional claws or skulls as well as some colored gems/beads. Kits often times wear the same colored beads/gems as their parents. Elders, generally choose not to wear any adornments. Omega's are not allowed to wear any adornments

What do they wear in winter? Do they grow a warmer winter coat?
They wear thicker clothing made from the hides of prey items as well as grow an under layer of fur to help insulate. Often times, not even needing the clothing to survive

    Habitat:

What climate do they live in?:
    Moderate

Does the species live in a preexisting area, or someplace new? Also, is it fictional?
(is it bad that i confuse fiction with science fiction? x.x)
I would have to say that their world is largely created around fiction, although it's similar to the earth as far as having air, large bodies of water/land, terrestrial and aquatic animals.

How far north/south would they be found? would there be a sub species that lives in the arctic/antarctic?:
They live in warm to moderately cold climates, no arctic/antarctic subspecies

Do they usually live in forests? Lakesides? Mountains? Deserts?
They're scattered around the different environments, though they tend to stay in the more moderate temperatures and avoid the extreme cold of the north and south.

Is their planet as varied as Earth in terms of terrain and climates, or is it the same everywhere?
It's as varied as earth is. having large bodies of both water and land with lakes, ponds and rivers scattered throughout

Is their world prone to natural disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes? If so, what steps do they take to prevent these from harming them? What about protection from their predators?
As far as protection from natural disasters is concerned, there really isn't any except to stay together and secure things that are precious to them (such as tools, food etc.)
As for predators, they are deadly hunters themselves and are devastating in groups. but while on their own, they really have no protection.

What is their sun/star called? How many are there? Do they have a moon? How many? what are they called?
There is only one sun which is named Ion. and they have 3 moons. 1 purple, 1 red, 1 gold, all the moons rotate around the planet in intervals depending on the season. the Purple moon is seen mainly during winter and at the end of fall, the Red moon is seen during fall and the end of summer and the Gold moon is seen during summer and the end of Winter. During the end of the seasons it is fairly common to see two moons in the sky at once. An example of this would be, During the end of winter, you would be able to see both the Gold moon and Purple moon in the sky at the same time on occasion.

    Life Span:

    How long do they live?
they can be healthy and active up until around 120 years of age, then they slow down for at least another 20, so that total average healthy age for the species is around 140

    Dwellings/Living Conditions:

Do they stay in caves, burrows or something else?:
Hollowed trees on occasion depending of the size and quality.
They would never carve out a dwelling within a living tree.

    Are they sedentary, or nomads?
General they are sedentary, but there are nomadic groups

    Diet:

What is the bulk of their diet made of, and what sort of hunting/gathering tools do they use?
They're Omnivores, so their main diet consists of anything available, even carrion (not to be confused with snuff/vore or other stupid shit like it)
As far as their hunting and gathering tools, they're pretty basic, consisting of spears, bows and arrows, and even their own claws if necessary. they are also able to harness surface metal ores and the like to create other types of tools and utensils that can help in every day life/battles

What do they typically eat? What do their food animals look like? Do they farm these animals at all?
They don't farm any of the fauna that they hunt. They're prey are generally the size of a buffalo, but on occasion they get lucky and get something as large as an elephant.

Are they cannibalistic? How do they deal with their dead?
Burials are a common sight for their dead, but on occasion there is cannibalism in regards to outsiders that die. they will not kill another Nibirusian to eat them, not even the rouges are that savage...

Do they use all the parts of animals they eat, or do they leave the rest for other scavengers?
For the most part yes, it depends on the size of the group. Alpha's get first dibs on meat and materials, next are the Betas, after them are the Omega, then kits and elders.
The reason the Omega are set before the kits and elders in the line of food and clothing materials is because, despite their status and cruel treatment/use by the others, they are still members of the tribe and need to be shown respect and gratitude for the "services" that they provide

    Do they cook their food?
The majority of the time they do cook their food, but they will eat raw/decaying meat if absolutely necessary

Do they eat insects and/or eggs?
Young ones will occasionally eat insects or eggs depending on what they can get their grubby little paws on first.
