New Art, and I found my inspiration again! =)Posted 1 week ago
Hello all!
I've uploaded a bunch of new art. I know it took almost a full year, but I figure I'd upload what I have. This stuff also has been sitting for about a year. My usual thing to do is work on something non-critical to warm up my skills before I'd do a commission, but over the course of the last year I'd always get pulled away before I could even finish my warm-up pieces. So, largely, the pieces have all been sitting around in various stages of completion, until I recently just decided to hunker down and just do it. As I feel sufficiently "warmed up", commissions are next on the list. =) I'm rather happy with this latest batch. I hope you will be, too! * * * * Oh, that's right. Not long after I made the one journal about being less than thrilled with the fandom, I bumped into the very thing that got me drawing in the first place. I happened to bump into a lot of art and clips featuring Don Bluth animation. The Secret of NIMH is really what started me on this crazy path, and just looking at his stuff made me feel that wonderful, magical feeling deep down in my soul. "Ohhh yeeeaaahh...!!" I said. I felt that same wonder and awesomeness I first felt over 21 years ago (I'm 31, btw). It made me deliriously happy. I have to tell you, I ADORE YouTube for the sheer amount of stuff you can find. Like Don Bluth's first-ever film before NIMH, "Banjo the Woodpile Cat." I was also surprised to find that Don Bluth did two music videos! Xanadu - "Don't Walk Away", and Scissor Sisters' "Mary". It made me go "Eeeeeee!!! =D" on the inside. And outside. Well, all over really. I'm back. =D |

Both together really severely dampened any enthusiasm I might have had for doing something with that story.
This is why the most about finding my inspiration is very significant. That's why you *haven't* seen anything yet.
