Star Wars - Escape from Kamino by *hunterbahamut

Artist commentary

I am taking a class called 'Interactive Game Prototyping' which focuses on building and creating games using the program 'Game Maker'.

This game is a maze-style game, where you have to go through and complete tasks in order to proceed, so there is no attacking.
For this game though, we had to make it a Star Wars themed game, so to make mine more unique and interesting, I decided to make my tauntaun character Katarina the main character escaping the planet Kamino, which is the planet that does the genetic research and development. These are a few of the screenshots from the actual game.

If you want to try the game, you can download it here: http://www.chrisfoxx.com/Hunter_Bahamut/swefk.exe

CONTROLS - In case anyone is confused to the controls of the game:

1 - Used to start the game and proceed through the intro screens.
A, W, S, D - Movement controls
T - exit the game
V - restart the current room you're in

Known bugs and problems:

Wall sticking - because of the coding used to make the character move you may run into some slight problems of 'sticking' to walls. It's easy to fix though, just move away from the wall and the character will move freely again.

"Moonwalking" Stormtroopers - The stormtroopers you see in the game are patrolling enemies, so when they move they should face the right direction, however, right now they don't, so when they move the walk backwards. It will seem a little weird but I'm trying to fix the problem.

The Katarina sprites were made by ~AlenaSyrene.
Other graphics were found on resource sites or made by me.

Star Wars is a registered trademark of LucasArts, all materials and music are © LucasArts.

The character Katarina and the game itself belong to me.
