Artist commentary

A repost from FA!

If you're curious, I spent about 1 month creating this from concept sketches to the finished product. Composing of well over 50 layers, this picture reached a staggering 1.67 gigabytes on my computer at 600 DPI with a resolution of 4800 x 6000 pixels. It is definitely my largest work to date!

Honestly, I kind of have some mixed feelings about how the finished piece turned out. On one hand I think it looks great like this! I tried a ton of new techniques and the challenges were great! I also think that this is a major improvement over most of my older (more static) works.

On the Other hand, I did have a lot more planned for this picture (including more buildings, details...etc) but realized that these extra things would've taken too much time, or are currently way out of my skill range.

Overall though, I'm very happy with this! And I hope that you all enjoy it too :)

Please keep in mind too that I worked REALLY hard on this, and although critiques are greatly appreciated, I'm probably not going to touch this picture up at all. But I still appreciate any feedback and I look forward to any comments you may have!

"i wonder how used you are to so many different comments, good or bad
your talent and skills are fine as a knife edge and you really suprise me
each time with a new direction of expressions, anatomy, tough it´s most
about yiff around here. im really am thankfull for the pleasure, not the
*wank unf and pant´s* pleasure but genuine privilaged one to see a
completly outgoing artist as yourself prove yourself to really draw and
not have a art block so often, maybe you have but, you do it so pro
im amazed you are still going. all these commissions you must get
and all these comments, subtly hinting a intimate... bonding. you do
it aweinspireing well even if i have not seen you comment back to often

to say; cool and wow and nice drawn, maybe makes you used and not
think so much over the gratitude of your work and not understanding
the effort you did an do, i just wanted to paint up my honest thoughts
about the respect, awe and even wonder how great you are now and still
have more to learn; "an art or drawing is never finished, only abandoned"

you are one brilliant artist, charming and uniqe ability´s that always interest
us to commend your work. hope you feel more spirited and boosted by this
as i thank you deeply for what you do. you´re one artist that will be rememberd
among many and that´s an encouriging thought. you don´t have to have the weight
of our desires or wishes to be perfected all the time as you may well know, just wanted
to really make it all more clear"

its been said before but you are too a incredible artist. Cudos to you for doing the effort
Believe and you will find your way

Wow, what can I say... That was very kind of you to take the time to write such an honest, and thoughtful comment. Just wow...

This really made my day! Thank you very VERY much :D As for my not replying to comments, well FAP is not my primary art gallery ^_^ I only upload art here as a backup. My Furaffinity page is where I am mostly active, and I always do my best to respond to any comments/questions I receive.

Anyway, I really appreciate the flattery, but I know I still have a long ways to go before I can match the skill and popularity of someone like Seel. However comments like this help me out a lot. They inspire me and bring my spirits up, and for that I can not thank you enough! It's comments like this that make drawing truly worth-while :) To know that I am appreciated and that my work inspires others means that I have accomplished my true goal as an artist... and as an entertainer!

Wow, this is wonderful. I always envy artists that can draw a great back ground.

I feel quite the same! Backgrounds can be as (or more) important than the foreground!

this exactly the kind of thing i like seeing with the "Furry" art direction, i think ive mentioned this a few time actually, but this new piece is simply incredible! Congratulations on a job well done man :D *slaps*

Its styled, its fresh, its "clean", and i dont have to constantly be looking over my shoulders in shame if im looking at it at work haha. Very well done :)

I know what you mean... A lot of images tend to be pretty "adult only" most of the time, and I really wanted to draw something that is attractive in a different way. A picture that can put a smile on your face :)

Don't get me wrong, I'm totally cool with adult work, and have (on occasion) drawn a few pinups n'such. Anyway, I am impressed with the reaction I've received with this picture. It went up pretty high on the featured list in a very short amount of time, and all of the plethora of positive feedback I've received has been very encouraging/inspiring :)

Anyway, thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it!

Thank you very much! I like lots of detail, and I actually had a lot more planned for this picture :D But I spent about a whole month sketching, outlining, and coloring... and a lot of detail had to be left out. However I am quite impressed with the final product :)

Anyway thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it!

Oh believe me, I didn't actually count all of the layers for the description XD That would've taken a while!

I just did a total count and there are about 90 visible layers and 113 layers in total (including sketch layers). So my guessing skills suck, but yeah, I definitely used quite a few!
