Unknown lion character

Artist commentaryThis is a very early concept for a new character I'm trying to come up with. I haven't come up with a name for him yet, and I'll probably change him a little before I've settled on a final idea. You'll have to forgive the terrible anatomy. I rarely draw figures, and I didn't use any references for the body at all. I really do need to get better with anatomy though, and I figure the best way to do so is to just practice as often as I can. I did however use some photos of lions as a reference for the head.The character will most likely have a relatively complex background story which I have yet to really work on, but what I can tell you is that he will be involved with smokeforears' character Veryn, and this lovely lady(?). It's sort of a joint project between the two of us. Expect cleaner, higher quality art of this guy and other characters in the future. |
