Artist commentary

I'm not really sure why I've held off on drawing this guy--he's like a living, breathing morphed picture. Royce can attest to his size...this guy is a monster. A really big, Samoan monster that always wears his Kakui net lei when working out. Like, I want to know what this guy does outside of the gym. He's too big for an office job...mmm...

And now for the slash:

After being cramped in his tiny cubicle at the DMV for 8-hours every day, Kaila Kanuha's gym time was as precious as his first love: a straight Filipino-Dutch boy that excommunicated him when Kaila professed his true feelings. "Pfft...bad memories..." He mumbled, falling back into his rigorous workout. 3-reps at 120lbs followed by an intense pose down in the mirror.

"Excuse me," Kaila's heart stopped...was that Ryan trying to get to the weight rack? "Ugh, nevermind..." The Filipino-Dutch boy pushed past, grabbing a pair of 20-pound weights.

Desperately trying not to be noticed, Kaila returned to his posing routine, carefully eying this Filipino-Dutch boy. He was too upbeat and flamboyant (yet attractively butch) to be Ryan. Kaila's heart melted; finally, a second chance at true love.


But, seriously. This guy is a mountain.

    At a cost though, Samoa along with numerous other south pacific islands is extremely fat(80% of their population is clinically obese or overweight). And unlike many Americans who are just lazy and eat the wrong stuff( high fructose corn syrup anyone?) they tend to be predisposed to weight gain even on fairly sparse diets. The good thing is "weight" gained can be muscle too! Oooooooh, I like the sound of that!
    Can those islands produce some real biggies! Oh yes!
    Good OC sketch/coloring, and the slash is funny.

    You know, most Samoans Ive met are at least as big as this guy. After a few years of doing security Ive learned to not mess with them unless I had 15 other guards backing me up.
