Artist commentary

This picture was pain in the butt to do because the background took a lot longer than I thought. The piece is all pencils, original is 11 by 17 inches but not all detail can be seen as the scanner can't possibly show it all. I changed the background and foreground several times. The way I did the water, (waves mainly) was different from anything I did before...so you could say that this is a breakthrough piece.

SCENE - On Saturday April 12th we had our first warm day of the year out here in Western Canada. After a colder and greyer than normal winter warm days like this are a welcome thing. When Kyel and I awake we realize how warm it is. I rejoice when seeing that Kyel is wearing his cut offs for the first time this spring. Later in the afternoon I am finishing up some chores with friends down the road while Kyel is sunning himself on our floating pier. When my phone rings I quickly recognize the number ID and answer, soon hearing my love's wonderful warm voice.
KYEL - " Hey love, where did you get off to ?
ME - " Just helping Lanu and Sinopay with their spring cleaning... whats up?"
KYEL - " I finished early today, I'm down on the floating pier catching some rays, chilling out, wondering when you were coming home?"
ME - " I don't know for sure..."
KYEL - *Sensual voice* " Gee thats too bad hun because I got practically nothing on. Maybe I'll spend some time wrapping my legs around a certain someone if they come home soon hmmm?
ME - * IMMEDIATELY hangs up *

Kyel will put the phone away as he smiles and knows he will be feeling my busy hands all over his body within a short time. . . especially those sexy legs that I can never get enough of!

      He definitely does DJ.... I love them, would worship them considering that big calves are a HUGE turn on for me. He was genetically gifted to begin with but once he started regular training, running, biking and hiking they responded quite a bit, ( growth wise ) . . . I read that you had a birthday recently, I am hoping it went well for you.

      Despite all the redrawing crap I went through to complete this piece I am glad that I stuck with the new method in doing the background. The realism is quite important in something like this as I try to portray Kyel in the most life like manner possible.
