Artist commentary

I was going through my archives and realized that I hadn't posted a couple of things here that I completely forgot about... Here's an older pic of Sammy in a Christmas scene from 2006... Yeah, I know it's Spring, but I love Christmas so much, I've got a number of Christmas theme engravings in my formal dining room... Used to have a tree up year-round, but Sammy made me take it down :(

    Heh, should have told her the tree was an energy saving model, saves the energy of putting it up and taking it down. =+D

    I love the blurred effect, it's like yer looking at a photograph. =+}
    Empty words of adulation and appreciation do not allow an artist to grow. Overly critical and out right attacks on an artists' work are even more damaging.

      Heh, I tried to keep the tree up, but when it started getting dusty, Sammy said it was time to go... Oh well. I still have the engravings up!

      Thanx! Actually, the whole thing was hand-drawn; tree, snow, window, arch, mistletoe, the works. I also blurred it incrementally... The tree and exterior was blurred more than the window and the arch was blurred the least. I was hoping that it made it look more realistic.

      Thanx again!

        Heehee, ya forgot to use the grass blower on it. =+}

        And ya certainly do have my compliments on how well the blur effect worked out. =+}

    As long as she let you keep the mistletoe up!

      Interesting that you mention it, but I do keep a gilded mistletoe ornament up until after Epiphany... Currently, I've got my Christmas Countdown going on a chalkboard being held by a penguin in the family room... Only 234 days to go!

    Very nice. The outfit looks especially cute. I think you did a great job overall.

      Thank you! The best part about the outfit is the unwrapping!

    More great classics, Cap! Sammy is certainly a favorite character. That would make a great Christmas card.

      I thought about that, but thought that the outfit, although less revealing than most I draw, would probably make some folks apoplectic... As always, appreciate the comments!
