Artist commentaryThe greatest of hero's to exist, and the man whom started the Nightdrifter Clan. His story only known to the fading yet surviving blood-line, and the legacy that was to be passed down to his reincarnate.His story takes place near the beginning century from the world's creation after the rise and fall of the now Hidden Lightning Diety... He should have been of the Tribe of Necro (Destin's Tribe that practices the Death Element). Fur of silver, forearms and forelegs of purple (fingers and toes silver), body riddled with purple markings to make him part of their clan. All dark, and shining like dark ink from a pen. Dark beige muzzle fur, and a white chest/ belly, a wolf of the Necro Tribe. But as a child he was sent off by his parents since they had been required to be rid of him by death. Instead they took him elsewhere and abandoned him near another village. He was found by a pair of jackals, which were the main species for the Tribe of Shadows, and they took him in and cared for him as if he was their child.They washed off his ritualistic markings, leaving his forearms (except for the fingers which had always been silver) and forelegs (except for toes for same reason) a beautiful white like his chest/belly fur, and the rest of his body which was silver save for his beige muzzle, a clean slate. Although frowned upon by the rest of them, they let him grow up there..and become one of them. They named him Nightdrifter, a name for his origin from the night darkness, and also for his new home among the Shadow Tribe. However, he was an outcast, being the only silver and white wolf in a sea of mostly pitch black jackals that felt he was not fit to be one of them. In time Nightdrifter had surpassed almost every single one of them as well as a mastery of Shadow Arts, becoming a great warrior in time. His vicious style of balanced leg and fist usage were incredible, the tribe's art of Ying Yang. Once the village recognized his talents, he was requested to join the Order of Virtuoso, an organization of the greatest masters of fighting or elemental power across the land and all its tribes. Within this organization, the only regular citizens allowed to enter were the staff, including people whom cleaned the halls, cooked their meals, and prepared their bedding. Nightdrifter came to fall in love with a gentle, sweet, young girl whom would cook their meals, having relieved her of others whom would harass her after eating. The relationship was a taboo, however, the master of their guild had allowed for it, taking favor for the outcast and underdog. During his time there, Nightdrifter was seen as strange, different, and unable to fit with the others for his species and appearance, however he found among his friends, both friend and rival in Onyx or as some called him "Fire Heart", whom was a mutt that mastered the powerful element of Fire. His master's favor in Nightdrifter was shown greatest when he revealed himself to Nightdrifter as the Shadow Tribe's god named Duality, the Deity of Shadows, and gave him a powerful katana made just for his use when the time comes. One day Destin had finally snapped and declared war. Nightdrifter donned his tribal war uniform to battle against him. A black ritualistic cloak with a hood he torn off when first recieved, black gloves, one white arm, white insignia on back, white trim, matching pants with white forelegs and metal capped shoes. He fought in battle with great skill and strength, combining his use of the fighting style and his elemental arts. He eventually came across a cloaked man whom wielded a sword that killed the undead with one stroke, and it was given to him with a message to hide it until Nightdrifter uses it on Destin himself. In the end he fought Destin by himself just as Duality was beginning to succumb to him. Taking Duality's sword, the mortal wolf of shadows and deity wolf of death fought in an incredible clash while the jackal Duality (deity of shadows) merely watched. It ended in a draw. Although the battle was won, the wolf of shadows was wounded beyond hope of healing, and fell shortly afterward.Duality took the chance to have Origin take away the warrior's soul. He requested for Origin to do the following. "I want you to create a being in his image when the time comes..He had given his life and fought with a spirit I have never seen before..I pray his family's blood line continues, in the name of...Nightdrifter." And so the soul of the wolf named Nightdrifter was stored and guarded, a statue of him wielding the great broadsword of the deity was built in the center of his home village. The miracle of the line's continuing was with his wife, bearing his child after his death. Centuries and decades passing along with generations of their name until their hero's reincarnation came to be. One day a wolf in his similar likeness known as Anthony "Ace" Nightdrifter was born as his reincarnation. The two do not share the same exact looks, yet they share the fur of silver, and the muzzle of beige (that fur and the fur on one of his arms got burned off by Luce at some point, so you cannot tell now), along with the incredible ability to fight. Though Ace did not learn the style of his ancestor but others so he only uses his legs. The only true advantage he has besides his looks, would be the soul's power which gives him more Shadow Elemental abundance then anyone known as well as a form of resistance to the Death Element, even the ability to ascend by linking both souls to form a mixed body, which even changes his outfit to the ancient tribal uniform of the Order of Virtuoso his ancestor worked for. Thus is the story of the man named Nightdrifter, ancestor to all of the Nightdrifter clan. I drew this pic myself during a class, and took it from my notebook to scan. I'm sorry for the dark areas, that would be lead smudges that only appear when scanned. As always, commentary would be nice.
