Artist commentary

AlphaKi's January trade for the ACEO Furs Exchange. http://community.livejournal.com/aceofursxchange/profile I did the linework in microns and printed it out to color with prismacolor markers and colored pencils. It's about 2.5 by 3.5 inches. There's a quarter inch white border, so the actual colored part is only 2 by 3 inches.

      This was made as a G or PG rated piece and is displayed that way everywhere else I've posted it. She is a basic fur covered were with no nips showing, not a true nude. This is similar to the anthro wolves drawn by Goldenwolf and other artists showing the outline of the breasts under the fur without nipples or genitalia showing. These are all G rated, as the fur covers the naughty bits that clothing would otherwise cover.

      If you disagree or there are further problems with this, please let me know.

        I wish you could do so here too. The rules here are worded very strictly: too strictly, in fact. They must be because I feel like a cuss and a prude for pointing them out to people. "nude" primarily means unclothed, just that (you can argue about what a 'true' nude is, if you like). Bad wording, I guess. If you don't like the way the rules are expressed, please join me in petitioning ekigyuu about them.

        So... chalk me down as basically agreeing with you, and the argument as having been had. This is a really lovely work, and I hope it stays up.

          I'll gladly join you in petitioning about the rules, just let me know what I need to do. I don't think nude = mature for anthro art, because simply lacking clothing doesn't mean that the character isn't still covered by fur, feathers, etc. :)

            Well, there's no formal petition going, but I did comment on it in ekigyuu's blog, albeit buried in a long-ago thread. He has a gmail account, under the obvious pseudonym.

            I don't think nude=mature automatically either, simply because there's nothing inherently shameful about being naked. The reason we don't where I live: good old-fashioned social mores, and the fact that it's too cold and miserable for most of the year.
