K'sharra Pendant - Necklace by *ksharra

Artist commentary

I made a beaded necklace for my little K'sharra pendant. I love it, I wear it every day. >^..^< Jurann and I found those little spiral beads (I LOVE spirals!) and I almost didn't get them, but Jurann got them anyways and I'm so glad he did. They match the hair on the pendant so perfectly.

I'm almost tempted to offer custom beaded necklaces along with the pendants, but I wouldn't know what to charge, and I'd have to ask Jurann anyways, since they're his beads. >.> It was so much fun, though!!

Would you or whomever made the pendant be able to use make my charager into a pendant?

oooh! that's so cute! I'd definately ask you to do one of my own character if you did decide to go through with doing custom pendants

Yeah, I'm already taking commissions for the pendants! Have a link: GO HERE

The only thing under consideration is whether or not I'll be offering beading options to go along with the pendant.

Beads are very very cheap, unless you're getting them from somewhere I don't know about, and the bands they're on tend to break easy, so I wouldn't charge much more than the pendant itself.

    It's very cute though.

Actually these are quality beads, and they're strung on beading wire (not string!), which is EXTREMELY durable. I expect this necklace to make it through hell and high water, it won't be breaking any time soon. I asked Jurann about the cost of materials for a necklace this size (since he bought all the beads and supplies in his collection) and he estimated $20-25, depending on the bead quality.

Well then it would depend on how many necklaces you could make out of the beads and wire. I would then break down about how much money each set of beads and wire goes for out of the $25. Then, add one or two dollars for labor, and add that to your $40.

I think the $25 estimate was per necklace, not for base supplies.

I'll have to take a trip to the craft store and get a good figure for myself, because Jurann's being vague and not giving me the information I need. Even *I'm* thinking $25 is too much, and I've been bead shopping with him. Probably $15-20 (including labor) would be more reasonable, but again... I need to check the cost of beads. I may do a field trip soon and see.

Well if the cost isn't too high for the entire necklace, I'm probably going to commission two in the future when we can afford it. I think they're really great.
