Artist commentarySo I'm working on DJ Stripes' commission when I noticed that the head kinda looked like a bear's head...well, the muzzle and the ears, at least. So I started thinking about how animals are related, and what animals are related and look like the bear. Then I thought "Oh, Wolverines are like bears....somewhat." But I had never drawn a wolverine before, so I started doodling a bear head, but with a longer snout for whatever wolverines use their longer snouts for. I got really into the sketch and started getting all worked up, like, "Hua! He needs more layers of fur! How will he be a wolverine without layers of fur?! BWA HA HA HA!" So I started inking it, and then I colored it right away, XD. Shenro helped me name him Ashton; but you see, he's a DJ, so his DJ-name is DJ ASH, XD.DJ Stripes came online (he was at Starbucks using their slooow wireless internet) and complained about his friend being lame and not picking him up (or something like that), so I showed him the pic that his commission inspired, and he was like, "Dude, the headphone cord looks like Macaroni," and I'm like, "...BRILLIANT." So I turned his cord into Macaroni in light of the Panda DJ that rips beats using pudding. *ahem* That aside, I used a modified coloring technique from my last piece to see if it would look better, and such.
