The Ripper by *rimpala

Artist commentary

This is done at request for Furtopian Joseph Foxwood. He normaly has a prohibition era gangster look, but I've noticed in his username that he describes his species as a "British Ripper Red Fox." Which made me think that his fursona is changing to more of a Jack the Ripper theme.

So volla! I hope I got his look right, his face is based on one of his old avitars, but this time of course with a creepy victorian goth costume. I used a limited pallete again and this time I'm going for a "film noir" look with black and white and lots of shadows. And finaly behind Joseph is Big Ben, Parliament and a whole lot of fog... making it very clear that he's in London. When I made the buildings I only worked from memory, because I like how it's just an impression of the real structures and how it's all distorted... It adds to the mood of the piece. Mood is important here too, cause I didn't want to just depict Joseph as Jack the Ripper, I wanted to depict him as the last thing you'd ever see.

BTW if Joseph wants to see the gangster look, I DO have a painting in mind that he'll be in... amoung other furs.

I think the gangster look is the new one. When I met him we was really into jack the ripper and only recently started talking about the prohibition times ganster stuff.

I do h owever loce the dark look to this.
